Advanced and Basic.

Advanced might be too strong a word, so if you are totally new to WordPress, don’t let that put you off. We’ll be covering everything from getting a domain name, hosting, getting the script and installing it, then performing the more “advanced” customizations that can be done to a WordPress powered website.

WordPress is a Great Way to Create your First Website.

We will be covering how to install wordpress on your own domain. This gives you the best access to the many wordpress plugins the themes available to you.

Search Engines Love Blogs.

Search engines love blogs. Why? Well because they give YOU and everyone else a platform for you to write about what ever you like. In terms of the internet – This is information – and the internet is one vast collection of information, whether that be how to build your own space shuttle to what you did yesterday…. If it’s unique, which in a lot of cases it is, then it’s regarded as valuable information.

And Blogs such as WordPress gives everyone – who can type – a platform to add your “valuable” information for all to see and comment on.

There are alternatives to WordPress.

There are also many alternatives to using WordPress. So to be fair, we will give a brief description of those as a courtesy to you.
At the end of the day, we need to get you a website up and running.
But, hopefully you’ll come back and look into using wordpress on your own website.

Note:

This is a static page being used as the home page. The reason for this is so we can control what you see when you first come here. Then you can access the other pages and the Posts. Out of the box – WordPress will show your posts by default and we need to 1. Create our Home Page and 2. Tell WordPress to use it as the home page. That will be in a upcoming tutorial.
